Nominations are now open for the Elmbridge Sports Awards 2017, allowing you to suggest the teams, individuals, volunteers, clubs and coaches you feel deserve to be recognised for their hard work and dedication.

You can do so until September 8, and the ceremony will be held at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, Walton, on Friday, November 10.

Councillor Barry Cheyne, chairman of the Elmbridge Sports Council, said, "We are always impressed with the enthusiasm and dedication of the local sporting community.

“These awards provide the opportunity to recognise our sporting heroes, both collectively and individually - so don’t miss the chance to nominate your favourite local sports person or club.”

Winners will go on to be nominated in the Surrey Sport Awards, where they can get county-level recognition.

Councillor Janet Turner, portfolio holder for Leisure and Culture, said: “Elmbridge has a thriving sporting scene supported by many dynamic clubs, talented athletes, coaches and volunteers who deserve to be rewarded for their contribution in making the Borough a great place to play sports.

“Send in your nominations and give them the accolade and reward they deserve.”
