An assault in Walton sent a man to hospital with serious injuries to his face and ribs.
It took place near the junction of Hersham Road and Rydens Road in Walton on Saturday (June 17) just after 6pm.
Police say the suspect made off on a bicycle after attacking the victim, who is in his 40s.
He is described as a white man, aged between 16 and 19, 5ft 10, clean-shaven and shirtless. He was also in the company of another male.
Surrey Police is appealing for information.
Detective Constable Heather Jenkins said: “This is a serious unprovoked attack which has left the victim with injuries which required hospital treatment.
“This is a busy cross road and we suspect there may have been witnesses to this incident and we are appealing for anyone with information to call Police to help bring those responsible to justice.”
