Now the days have become warmer, it is a great opportunity to take advantage of the outdoor gyms in Elmbridge.
The council is putting on several free sessions to help you become more active and improve your fitness.
An instructor will show you how to use the equipment safely, and tell you how to make the most of the facilities.
Sessions will be as follows:
Cobham recreation ground, Anyards Road KT11 2LG:
- Wednesday June 21, 10am to 11am
- Thursday July 6, 1.30pm to 2.30pm
Coronation recreation ground, Molesey Road, Walton-on-Thames KT12 4RG:
- Thursday June 29, 1.30pm to 2.30pm
Long Ditton recreation ground, Windmill Lane KT6 5QE:
- Monday June 26, 1.30pm to 2.30pm
Molesey Hurst recreation ground, Dunstall Way KT8 1PD:
- Tuesday June 20, 11am to noon
- Monday July 3, 1.30pm to 2.30pm
The gyms are free to use and are suitable for all ages. They include low impact, resistance-based equipment such as cross trainers, treadmills, exercise bikes and stretch stations.
Councillor Janet Turner, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: “Exercising outdoors is much more fun than slogging away on a traditional treadmill.
“The outdoor gym equipment provides the opportunity to exercise in a pleasant environment and you are bound to pick up some useful tips from the free training sessions. Do come along and have a go!”
