A suicidal woman has thanked Kingston police officers for their “quick thinking and professionalism” when they saved her life.

The woman, who has remained anonymous, said she had a “massive wake up call” following the incident at a car park on Sunday, April 2.

Kingston MPS shared the message on Twitter and said: “Wow, what an amazing card. We are so proud of our officers.”

The woman went on to write that she had been alcohol-free for 10 days and she had been given a second chance.

The card said: “This card is for everyone who assisted in my safe removal from the car park roof on Sunday 2nd April.

“I owe you my life. This has been a massive wake up call.

“I have now been alcohol free ten days and intend to be for the rest of my life.

“Thank you for that second chance by your quick thinking and professionalism.

“A special thanks to PC Knowles (I believe that’s his name) who talked to me and kept me as calm as possible throughout the whole process. I can’t thank you all enough.”

The tweet got a positive response on social media and Twitter users praised the police for their actions.

Kathleen Mannion wrote: “Beautiful card. You made a difference to that person’s life. Everything you do is worthwhile.”

Janet Govey replied: “Good job guys and good luck to the sender of the card in getting back their life.”
