Two people have been arrested after a pair of 'horrendous' linked road-rage attacks on the M25 and A3 left a woman with broken ribs and a fractured shoulder.

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses to the attacks after a white Range Rover and a black Renault Clio were involved in a minor crash on the M25, just after the M3 junction 2 slip road heading towards junction 11 at Chertsey at 11.30am on Friday, March 24.

It is thought the Range Rover side swiped the Clio and made threatening gestures towards the occupants.

The second incident at 11.40am happened at Painshill roundabout on the M25 slip road, when the Range Rover stopped at red traffic lights.

Friends of the occupants in the Clio stopped at the lights in a black Mercedes ML and the passenger, a woman in her 20s, was said to have approached the Range Rover where she was involved in a argument with the occupants.

Surrey Police officers believe she was then hit by the 4x4, but cannot rule out whether there was a physical attack.

The people in the Range Rover then drove away.

The woman was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting with multiple broken ribs, a fractured shoulder, and a leg injury.

She has since been discharged.

A 25-year-old man from Weybridge was arrested on Monday March 27 on suspicion of GBH with intent, a number of driving offences and using threatening and abusive language.

A 25-year-old woman from Weybridge was also arrested on suspicion of encouraging or assisting GBH with intent and using threatening and abusive language.

The pair remain on bail until April 24 while enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Katie Hanlon said: “This is a horrendous incident that could have had even more serious consequences.

“The manner of driving and actions are dangerous to other road users and I would urge anyone who witnessed either incident to contact police.

“If you have any dash camera footage of either of the incidents or if you witnessed the manner of driving of any of the cars involved prior to the collision please contact us as soon as possible.”
