An Irish racing Greyhound has predicted England will take the Grand Slam in the Six Nations this Saturday.

Rescue dog Storm, who is at Battersea Dogs and Cats looking for a new home, has apparently "taken up sports predicting" after retiring from racing.

If England beat Ireland in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium this weekend, they will break the New Zealand All Blacks’ world record for consecutive test victories.

When asked to choose between two identical food-filled toys, one under an English flag and one under an Irish flag, the four-year-old canine went straight for the England team- completely forgetting his heritage.

Rebecca Fisher, rehoming and welfare manager at Battersea, said: "Storm is a lovely, affectionate boy with a bouncy nature who is always looking to please.

"It remains to be seen if his rugby knowledge is up to scratch but one thing’s for certain – he’ll make a great addition to any home."
