A police car reportedly had to be taken away by a recovery truck following a police chase through Kingston.
Officers spotted a car believed to be connected with a crime in Villiers Road, in Surbiton, at 11.29am on Friday and set off in pursuit.
The suspect was chased to a nearby Aldi car park near Kingston Road before he left the car and tried to flee on foot.

One witness told this website she saw a police car with a damaged front bonnet being loaded onto a recovery truck.
The driver was caught in St John’s Road soon after and taken to a south London police station for questioning.
A police helicopter was also reportedly at the scene.
