A New Malden schoolgirl suffering from a very rare genetic disorder was among the guests at the Lord Mayor of London’s annual fancy dress party.

Zoe Armstrong-Gash, who suffers from a rare genetic disorder, ADHD and autism, was one of the few children across London chosen to be invited to Andrew Parmley's annual party at Mansion House, in central London.

Suffering from osteopathic striata with cranial sclerosis, Zoe has spent much of her life in and out of hospital with chest infections and has even suffered mini strokes.

Mum Britt Armstrong-Gash said: “It was such a lovely treat for Zoe. The children were all treated like royalty and Zoe declared it officially the best day of her life.

“On paper it all looks hideous but, in reality Zoë is an absolute joy and inspiration. The reality is that she is a feisty, funny, caring nine-year-old, who happens to get very unwell from time to time and no one knows what her future holds.”

Zoë, her mother and her friend Aphra Fearon-Low, 9, were also chauffeur-driven to the party and back by Kingston mayor Geoff Austin’s personal chauffeur.

Cllr Austin has chosen momentum as his mayoral charity and has been fundraising for them during his term.
