A fundraising page has been set up for a young angler who was found dead in a fishing lake at Sutton-at-Hone, as tributes continue to pour in for the teenager, described by his family as the 'cheekiest, funniest, strongest' boy.

16-year-old Jack Morrisson's body was recovered from the lake on Saturday (December 17) after he was reported missing the previous day.

His family have paid tribute to the football fun and keen fisherman.

They said: "Jack, you were like a beautiful angel that we were sent.We have been so lucky to have you and you were amazing.

"Although our hearts are broken that your life was short we want to celebrate your life that we were so blessed to be a part of.

"You were like our little golden boy, your life was so charmed and everything you wanted seemed to come to you.

"Your love of football was answered by playing for Volenti Football Academy and your weekends were spent on your one true love, fishing.

"You have brought so much joy to us and we feel so blessed to have had you."

A JustGiving page has been set up to help with funeral costs and raised more than £2000 of the £7000 target within five hours.

A message on the page says: "Jack has been a member of DDAPS (Dartford and District Angling and Preservation Society) since 2008 from a young age of 8 years old and enjoyed his fishing on our venues with his mates.

"Jack was a kind loving boy that was so passionate towards his fishing and the wildlife that surrounded him.

"Jack was mature beyond his years and always had a big warming smile to greet everyone."

Hundreds of anglers have posted tributes on social media to the Longfield Academy pupil.

Posting on the Carp Talk facebook page Pablo Cadabra wrote: "RIP little fella, such sad news, sincere condolences to the friends and family of this young lad.

"Parents where clearly doing a great job in bringing him up if he was fishing instead of roaming the streets."

Ronny Willis wrote: "RIP Jack you was taken far too young from this earth. I hope that now you're upon high you finally catch all the fish of your dreams. Sleep tight young man."

Jack's family continued: "Although your life was short it was full; you had achieved so much and were on a path to success.

"Your life was not a waste and the last year you had become so funny, constantly making us laugh and thank you God for that, as we now have so many stories to share of your cheeky jokes.

"That is what is keeping us strong, the thought of your happy laughing face that we love more than words can say.

"Our lives will never be the same now, without you here with us and although we never thought there really were angels, now we do as it's the only explanation for such a beautiful amazing boy.

"We love you so much Jack and we can't even begin to put in to words the love and the pride you have given to us being in your life.

"Thank you so, so much for letting us be part of your life,  our perfect angel Jack, AKA the cheekiest, funniest, strongest amazing boy we have ever had the pleasure to have known.

"We are just so lucky to have had you in our life for the time that we did, love from your family."

Jack’s family also thanked the people for their work and support, particularly Dartford and District Angling and Preservation Society (DDAPS), Kent Search and Rescue volunteers (KSAR), Kent Fire and Rescue Service and police officers.

The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
