Kingston High Street is still closed after a double-decker bus caught fire last week.

Resurfacing works are still being carried out on the road surface, which was badly damaged when a 371 bus spontaneously caught fire on Friday afternoon.

Kingston Council said that traffic is moving normally in Kingston Hall Road, Portsmouth Road, College Roundabout and Eden Street despite the road closure.

The driver of the bus had to be treated for smoke inhalation on Friday following the fire, while fuel leaked into the Hogsmill River covering nearby swans in oil.
