Detectives have arrested a sixth teenager on suspicion of murder after the fatal stabbing of Matthew Kitandwe in Battersea.

Matthew was killed just metres from his home on June 21 in Wayford Street.

Today, August 2, a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody at a south London police station.

Five others remain on bail.

An 18-year-old man arrested on Thursday, June 23 was bailed to return on a date in mid August.

A 16-year old boy arrested on Monday, June 27 on suspicion of murder was bailed to return on a date in early September.

A 17-year-old boy arrested on Friday, July 8 on suspicion of murder was bailed to return on a date in mid September.

A 15-year-old boy arrested on Thursday, July 28 was bailed to return on a date in mid-September.

A 13-year old boy arrested on Friday, July 29 was bailed to a date in early September.

Officers continue to appeal for information about the murder.

Anyone in the area of Wayford Street up to 4.10pm on June 21 should get in touch. 

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of £10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Matthew's murder.
