NOW, I wouldn’t say I was on a level with Stephen Fry or Albert Einstein when it comes to the clever stakes.

I mean, there aren’t that many of us who are, let’s face it.

However, I would say I’m a fountain of knowledge when it comes to nuggets of random trivia, you know, useless pieces of information that have no relevance whatsoever when it comes to day to day life.

For instance, Michael one year bought me a personalised engraved atlas for Christmas which I loved and another year he bought me a copy of the periodic table to read at night before bed.

I just like little tidbits and reference books – FACT. I remember growing up having a set of the Britannica encyclopaedias at home and using them for projects or simply to flick through – I mean they were invaluable!

That reminds me, I really want to order a set for our home.

So recently I’ve been asked to appear on a few TV quiz shows and, although in the past I’ve declined, I felt now was the time to face my fears and raise some money for charity.

I love watching these shows on television, sitting in the comfort of your home, hot drink in hand, shouting the answers at the box, feeling all smug when you know the answer while the person in the hot seat hasn’t got a clue.

Well that person became me!

As the lights, cameras, and pressure to answer questions in a short amount of time were put upon me, the word ‘pass’ became my ‘go to’ word.

Now I’m not making excuses, but I went away from the studios on more than one occasion kicking myself about not hearing the question properly or giving a wrong answer.

I was raging! Such a wally!

Anyway, I’ve realised I need to get back to my books and learn some more facts! We tend to get a little slack as we get older wouldn’t you agree?
