A crash between two cars and a lorry and a burst water main is causing severe delays on the M25 near Leatherhead.
Traffic is queuing anti-clockwise from junction 9 to Cobham services.
Fire crews were seen racing to the crash, it was reported.
The traffic from the crash is also affecting the A3.
Surrey Police said: "The incident happened on the M25, anticlockwise near junction 9, Leatherhead.
"Two cars, a black BMW and a black Audi TT, are believed to have collided. The incident resulted in one driver having minor injuries.
"Lanes three and four are still closed due to standing water, which Highways Agency are currently dealing with.
"Lanes one and two are now running, however there is a build-up of traffic following the incident."
The Highways Agency have also warned commuters to approach the stretch of the M25 anti-clockwise with caution while contractors work to fix the burst water main.
