A healthcare and policy research professor from Kingston and St George's universities has been named on the Queen's 90th birthday honour list.
Vari Drennan, who is based at St George's, University of London, in Tooting, was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire, recognised for services to Health Policy Research, Development and Nursing.

Professor Drennan is professor of health care and policy research, director of the Centre for Health and Social Care Research and associate dean for research in the faculty.
Her background is in sociology and social policy and she began her work in academics after working as a senior community health service manager and professional head of community nursing.
Professor Drennan's research includes health and social care services for older people, particularly those with long term conditions; medicine management in community settings; and health service provision for women, particularly those socially excluded.
She took to Twitter after the MBE announcements were made to say the award reflects the teams and people she has worked with in her career.
