A police cordon around a "suspicious car" in a car park at Chessington World of Adventures has now been removed.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said they were called to a "car leaking gas" outside the resort in Leatherhead Road.
The cordon was put in place just after 12.05pm at the Lodge car park, with police and the fire brigade investigating the car for almost two hours.
A Chessington World of Adventures spokesman said: "We can confirm that an incident took place in the Lodge car park at the Chessington World of Adventures Resort in Surrey, at 12:05pm.
"A cordon was put in place and the Police and Fire Brigade were contacted immediately.
"A full check of the site and all clear was given by the Police and Fire Brigade at 14:03 and the cordon was removed."
It was later confirmed a malfunction in a car lead to a "small gas leak".
