A tin of sardines, cheese wedges and guinea pigs paraded through Surbiton to celebrate the Seething Festival yesterday.

Dozens of people poured in to Surbiton to take part in the eccentric and much-loved surreal procession.

Children dressed as cheese and mixed with a herd of guinea pigs - which seems to grow every year.

A crowd of people gathered to watch and take part in the festival, taking in music from The Curious Sounds, who set up camp in St Andrew's Square.

Lefi the goat boy, who is the star of the parade, was marched through the streets accompanied by a host of people, objects and animals.

Previous years: Showcasing the brilliance of the festival and the fancy dress

This year's parade falls during a leap year, which is special in Surbiton.

The legend of Lefi Ganderson, the goat boy, tells that every four years the Seething villagers do something to help others in honour of the goat-boy’s selflessness in saving the town from the giant.

Today will see a celebration of good deeds and give people the chance to do something positive. To make a pledge write it on a note and deposit it in the box at the Lamb pub in Brighton Road.
