There is nothing worse than scraping dog poo from your shoes or your children's clothes and knowing someone has not bothered to pick up after their pet.

Two years ago a child started their own poster campaign to tackle the issue.

Now one Twickenham dad, who asked to remain anonymous, has threatened to shop the culprits to the law with secret surveillance.

It is illegal to allow a dog to foul the footpath or public land and comes with a £80 fixed penalty notice or a prosecution with up to £1,000 costs.

His note says: "I have good (enough) mobile phone footage of this person leaving this 'poo bag'. Please pick it up by Wednesday - 48 - hrs before I take the video to TW [Twickenham] Police."

Sadly, he admits he did not actually capture footage of the suspect in Lion Road, Twickenham, near St Richard Reynolds College, as the note claims, but he says people should film people who leave dog poo.

He said: "We go to school every morning and it gets on the children's scooters, their shoes and their clothes.

"If the people leave dog poo and not take it they should be caught.

"I said to a PCSO 'have you ever caught anybody?' and they said if you do catch ayone they pick it up and there's no offence.

"Ninety nine times out of 100 they leave it and it's the night so no-one sees it."
