An Old Malden man has admitted attacking a mother-of-six with acid leaving her with severe burn marks for the rest of her life.

Geoffrey Midmore, 26, of Sheephouse Way, pleaded guilty to one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent when he appeared at Southampton Crown Court on Monday, November 16.

His victim, 37-year-old Carla Whitlock, feared she would lose her sight in one eye following the attack outside the Turtle Bay bar in Southampton’s Guildhall Square on Friday, September 18.

About six hours after, Mr Midmore posted a status on his Facebook page that said: “I've done something really fucking bad its a proper mad ting sad ting.”

His Facebook account was deleted soon after.

A date is yet to be set for his sentencing.

Younger brother Billy Midmore, 22, also of Sheephouse Way in Old Malden, denied the charge when he appeared in the same court as his sibling on Monday.

He will next appear at Southampton Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on January 15, with a trial provisionally expected to begin from March 29 next year.

A 22-year-old man from Surbiton arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, and assisting an offender, has been bailed till January 11.

A 33-year-old woman from Kent arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has also been bailed until January 26.
