A rogue cat that has allegedly been "terrorising" other pets in a Tolworth residential street is being hunted.

The menace is said to be on the loose in and around School Lane and has been seen beating up meeker house cats.

Allegations against the roving tom came to light at a School Lane Residents' Association meeting when attendees were asked if they had any other business.

One woman stepped forward to say her cat had been targeted by the ferocious feline and she had endured expensive vet bills as a result.

Councillor Malcolm Self said: "It has been seen by a number of residents and is well known but no one has been able to catch him.

"He had taken a good chunk out of this lady's cat apparently and it has been attacking and biting other cats for a while. It’s no laughing matter."

A social media campaign has been started to try and identify whether the cat has an owner or is a bad tempered stray.

An ‘Identicat’ notice, complete with mug shot, was put on Facebook by Barry Mitchell from the Kingston Federation of Residents'.

It read: "Do you know this cat? This cat has been terrorising other cats in the School Lane area of Kingston.

"If you have any information about this rogue cat please drop a note into School Lane Youth Community Centre.

"An Identicat notice has been issued to aid with the identification of possible culprits."
