Morag Blumhoff, 49, of Pantile Road, Weybridge, pleaded guilty to causing the death of Allan Chandler without due care and attention while driving.
Mr Chandler, a 67-year-old from Weybridge, was walking when the collision happened. He was taken to St George's Hospital, Tooting, with serious head injuries, but died after being hit by the Honda Jazz on St Mary’s Road, near the junction with Oatlands Drive.
A victim impact statement was read out during the hearing at Staines Magistrates' Court on June 24.
Blumhoff was then sentenced to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months, pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85 to the court.
She was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
