A five-year-old German shepherd was top dog in the National Police Dog Trials.
Chester helped Surrey and Sussex police dog section retain the winner's trophy during a three-day event hosted by Police Scotland.
Among the 21 competitors, two other Surrey dogs came in the top 10.
The dogs and their handlers competed in a number of tests, including demonstrating skills used in operational dog handling, use of force, safety, obedience and agility.
Chief Constable Lynne Owens said: "I was thrilled to hear the fantastic news that we smashed the National Police Dog Trials for a second year running.
"Congratulations to PC Graham Lightfoot and police dog Chester in being placed first at this esteemed event, and well done to PC Rob Male and Apollo and PC Paul Barnham and Ethel who also achieved superb placings in the top 10.
"I applaud the dog section's achievement and this positively reflects out dedication at all the stages of training from puppy walking through to professional working dog.
"I am very proud that we have the best police dog team in he country working hard to keep the residents and visitors of our country safe."
