This week has moved as fast as Speedy Gonzales being chased by Sylvester the Cat.

I am not sure why, or if it has something to do with the weather being absolutely gorgeous, or just the sheer volume of activity. Either way, it has been a good one on the whole.

I finally relented and bought some chesty cough mixture as Michael was getting annoyed with me waking him up in the middle of the night with my hacking.

Luckily, I have not worked all this week so have managed to rest and recuperate – if that is what you can call looking after my two boisterous and energetic children.

I still have to pinch myself to believe they are both here and try to get my head around the fact they are so big now.

I do realise they are growing all the time, but there is a constant reminder whenever I have to buy them new clothes and shoes, which I had to do again this week.

Also, my youngest is starting to have proper conversations with me – so four chatterboxes in the house equals no peace.

I have been thinking a lot about how grateful I am this week.

With the good weather, I have managed to catch some rays in the garden while watching the children explore the surroundings properly for the first time as a brother and sister double act.

They are hilarious, and it has given me time to relax.

My family are so important to me and it is moments like this that you can really take it in.

Finally this week, I’ve started sorting out my keepsake trunk.

I have one for each of us, but have never actually sorted through my own.

It has been really nostalgic and made me reflect on my life. Yes, there have been mistakes and emotional rollercoasters, but so far, so good.

And long may it continue.
