CONSTRUCTION worker Derek Robertson, 43, of Clapperhowe Road, Motherwell, was electrocuted yesterday while working in Carmunnock, near East Kilbride. He was working for Bedrock Construction at its headquarters at Westerfield Road, when the accident happened shortly after 11am.
Police said Mr Robertson was electrocuted and died at the scene when overhead cables touched the jib of a tracked vehicle he was walking near.
Health and Safety officers and ScottishPower executives were carrying out an investigation at the scene yesterday.
A police spokesman said: ''There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator-fiscal.''
