A YOUTH who was searched in Greenock in the latest round of Strathclyde Police's Spotlight Initiative claimed a sharpened stick he was allegedly carrying had been made in school. The stick was among 33 offensive weapons, including 16 knives and a replica gun, allegedly recovered by police. More than 500 officers searched 3500 people during the Saturday night operation.
