the new Scottish Parliament tartan, made up of the colours of all Scottish political parties, is very fetching. I was particularly gratified to note that its predominant colour is Green!

WHAT message does the new tartan for the Scottish Parliament send to the world? Namely that the New Scotland has four political parties who each have a different colour. I mean self-absorbtion or what? Surely an ideal opportunity has been missed for a message for an inclusive Scotland. A tartan which included our diverse ethnic and cultural mix, and had among it elements of Africa, Asia, China, and Ireland, would have been better and would have helped to define a Scottishness free of narrow nationalism.
