The charges relate to an incident in Tolworth Broadway at about 5:50pm on Tuesday, March 10, when police were called to reports of a fight between two men by members of the public.

Mr Benjamin was stabbed three times - in his arm, in his chest and near his liver - and was taken to St George’s Hospital, in Tooting, with life-threatening injuries, where he was placed in intensive care.

The defendant’s lawyer Sarah Taite told the court that Mr Kukoyi lives at home with his parents and two older siblings and that he is studying business at college.

Mr Kukoyi did not enter pleas for any of the charges and will appear at Kingston Crown Court later this month.

He has been remanded in custody.
