Castle Hill Primary School hosted a balloon launch to celebrate gaining academy status this week.
The balloon launch in action
Students at the school in Buckland Road, Chessington, wrote their aspirations for the future before attaching them to balloons that were released on Monday morning.
Headteacher Lou Anderson said: "We have always been very aspirational, and believe in the idea that the sky is the limit, hence the idea for a balloon launch.
"We are really excited about the opportunities becoming an academy will bring and look forward to a very positive future."
The school attained a good Ofsted inspection last year.
