A conscientious resident has received the first reward for information about fly-tipping - and donated the money to charity.
A carpet and rubbish were dumped in a popular walking spot and Elmbridge Community Safety Partnership issued the reward after information led to the identification of an offender.
Peter Kipps, community safety partnership manager, said: "The partnership started a reward fund last year in an effort to combat the rise in fly tipping offences and we are pleased to announce the first payment."
On December 28, the council was informed of a fly-tip of carpet waste and rubbish in Locke King Road, Weybridge.
An 18-year-old from Weybridge paid £120 and was given a formal caution.
The witness, when told they would received £50 for the information, asked for the money to be given to Macmillan Cancer support.
To report a crime or antisocial behaviour call Surrey Police on 101.
Call Elmbridge Council on 01372 474474 to report fly tips or those responsible.
