I’ve had one of those weeks where I don’t know whether I’m coming or going and as a result, this article won’t be in the paper and only online as I forgot the deadline for my column believing it was a different day.

I feel like I’ve let myself down, the paper down and you the reader down! Now I know I’m being slightly overdramatic on purpose and all have to put these things into perspective, but it’s not a great feeling having a week when you’re chasing your tail.

I still think today is Tuesday and have all my days mixed up, even when I went to the trouble of buying a diary planner which is staring at me right this second.

On two separate days, I had planned for friends to come over for tea, but for reasons beyond their control they couldn’t make it and I was left eating cake on my own, all day, for two days.

Now that may seem like a good thing, but not when you’re on your fifth piece of cake and its only midday.

Plus I’m trying to be healthy and didn’t make it to the gym once. Then I had a hospital appointment and while I was waiting at the bus stop, I got a call saying it needed to be changed. Hey Ho! At least I didn’t waste any credit on my oyster card.

You know what though? There’s always a silver lining and all in all I’ve had a fun week.

As a family we ran around Richmond Park looking for different animal footprints, Michael and I announced the nominees for this year’s Royal Television Society Awards, we went to a surprise 60th birthday party even though we missed the actual surprise and I’ve managed to practice my cello twice without forcing the neighbours to move.

Here’s to next week and being back on track!
