Two members of Oxshott Village Sports Club were honoured for their efforts at its 89th annual general meeting.

The volunteer of the year award was given to John Chapman for all of his work in refurbishing the clubhouse.

David Irving, partner at Mundays, who sponsored the award, said: "John has been a major contributor to the huge refurbishment project which has taken place over the last 12 months.

"By giving his time and using his many skills, John has saved the club a significant amount of money."

Meanwhile the Savills long and distinguished award was given to Pauline Davidson, for her work in the club's netball team over the past 25 years after joining in 1983.

Charlie Urwin, associate director at Savills in Cobham, said: "Savills has been a proud sponsor of Oxshott Village Sports Club for many years and we are delighted to present this annual award to recognise a member who has provided the club with outstanding support over the years.

"This year's winner, Pauline Davidson, is a very deserving recipient and we offer her our heartfelt congratulations."

The awards were given out on February 9.
