A Surbiton pre-school that has embraced modern technology is celebrating its 15th anniversary.

Noah’s Ark, in Ewell Road, will be commemorating the milestone with a series of events that will culminate in a large party attended by parents and prominent community figures in the summer.

The school has been rated as outstanding in their last two Ofsted inspections and nursery manager Bettina Campion insists that this is, in part, due to the school embracing modern technology.

Mrs Campion has been at the pre-school since it opened and has overseen the use of modern gadgets to teach the children.

She said: “One of the main reasons we achieved our outstanding rating was that we have been able to create a captivating atmosphere in the nursery with a stimulating range of activities organised for the children.

“Our unofficial motto is that we want to educate children in a stimulating and interesting environment.

“We have recently invested in a smart board, which has allowed us to explore lots of learning opportunities.

“We try and plan fascinating activities to keep the children entertained and with the smart board the possibilities have really increased.”

Mrs Campion also thinks the Catholic nursery’s ability to embrace other cultures has added to its success.

She said: “We pride ourselves on teaching the children to be kind and helpful to each other which are Catholic principles, but we will accept children from any background.

“At the moment we have children from all backgrounds nationalities and religions from Christians to Hindu.”
