A man who removed mushrooms from Richmond Park without permission was given a conditional discharge.

Gianiuca Galetti, 38, of Muswell Hill, Hornsey, pleaded guilty to interfering with mushrooms in the royal park on October 19 last year.

He was discharged conditionally for six months at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Monday, January 19, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £30 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

In December last year, Grzegorz Szumielewicz, 47, of Lismore Close, Isleworth, also pleaded guilty to removing the fungus from the park and was handed the same punishment.
