Police investigating an alleged assault in a woodland area in Weybridge visited the scene a week on, in a bid to find out more information.

The alleged incident happened near Brooklands College and Station Approach at about 4.55pm on Tuesday, December 16.

The female victim told police she was approached by a man who grabbed her and threw her to the ground, but she was able to run away and raise the alarm.

Officers from Surrey Police patrolled the area between 3.30pm and 6pm on Tuesday, December 23, to speak to members of the public who may hold vital clues or answers to the incident.

Detective Constable Cally Cleeve said: "It was a particularly busy area at the time of the incident with students and users of the nearby station in the area. If you were in this location a week ago between the hours of 3.30pm and 6pm we urgently need to hear from you if you witnessed any suspicious behaviour."

* A man in his 50s arrested in relation to the incident was released with no further action being taken.
