A man found guilty of instigating a 'crash-for-cash' scam in Tolworth has been let off with a community order.

Arkadiusz Warnawski, 40, deliberately caused a collision in his Volvo S80 before escorting the other driver to a cash machine and demanding £100 on July 16 last year.

Following a trial at Kingston Crown Court a jury found him guilty of dishonestly making false representation.

Warnawski, of Lodge Road, Croydon, was given a 12-month community order, 80 hours of unpaid work, a £200 fine and was also made to pay back £250 in compensation to his victim when he was sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on November 12.
