A person has died after falling from a multi-storey car park in Kingston town centre this afternoon.

Police and London Ambulance both attended Eden Walk car park just before 2.30pm.

Police tape was tied across railings on the top floor of the car park.

Nearby workers, who did not witness the fall, said police officers tried to revive the person, thought to be a man in his 30s, for about 20 minutes.

A London Ambulance spokeswoman said: "Sadly despite resuscitation attempts a person died at the scene."

Police were called after a member of staff reported a man sitting on the top floor of the car park.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police believe they know the person involved but this is subject to formal identification.
