Elmbridge Museum has launched a school membership scheme to support schools and community groups.

The museum’s learning team have liaised with Surrey teachers to produce an annual membership package that schools can subscribe to.

For an annual fee of £165 schools will gain the benefit of interactive workshops, discovery boxes and an assembly.

Elmbridge Museum hope the programme will enable children to have access to their local history through the innovative sessions and by learning about the 40,000 objects in the museum.

Councillor Mary Sheldon, portfolio holder for leisure and culture commented: "The museum learning team has put together an excellent range of engaging learning tools which are a fantastic resource for enhancing learning in the classroom.

"We hope that many schools take up the membership offer which represents great value for money."
