Roadworks to repair damage from burst water pipes in Surbiton will drag on until next week, Thames Water has said.
A 6in pipe burst yesterday afternoon, causing significant damage to the road at the junction of St Mark's Hill and Ewell Road.
Four-way temporary traffic lights have been installed.
Repairs on the initial burst were completed yesterday, but more leaks were found.
A Thames Water spokeswoman said: "We found a second leak while repairing the first.
"Our teams are working hard to fix a second leak, as well as repairing damage to the road caused by the burst pipe.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and hope to finish works in the road early next week."
