A man has admitted sexually assaulting a woman in her home.

Sherwan Amin, 20, of Coombes Road, Dagenham, changed his plea to guilty at Kingston Crown Court today, shortly before his trial was to begin.

He had previously denied the two assaults, committed over a three-hour period last October in New Malden.

In January this year Amin admitted he returned to the woman’s home the next day to commit burglary.

Recorder John Price QC warned Amin of the “almost certain circumstances” he will face when he is sentenced.

Prosecutor Oliver Renton said the two assaults had been inflicted over a “prolonged period of time”.

Amin’s change of plea means his victim will not have to give evidence in open court.

Amin, who was released on bail, declined to comment outside court today.

He will be sentenced on Tuesday, September 16, at Kingston Crown Court.
