A runaway horse has been reunited with its owner after taking a stroll down the A3 and Tolworth Broadway.
The black horse was reported to police at about 12.20pm today.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "The horse had riding gear on but no rider.
"It came off the A3 and subsequently went down the Broadway, where officers put in a rolling roadblock to mitigate against any possible accidents.
"It stopped in the Broadway. We then obviously had to try and find the owner.
"We liased with Surrey [Police] who tracked down the owner, who had come off the horse.
"She came to pick it up and it has now been taken away."
The rider appears not to have been injured when she came off the horse, the spokesman added.
