A cardboard city, spider mountain and arts and crafts filled Hurst Park as families came together to enjoy a day of fun and games.

Elmbridge families joined tens of thousands of children across the country who took part in Play Day, a national day celebrating the right to play.

From bouncy castles and a spider mountain to a cardboard city, balloon modelling and arts and crafts, there was something to keep all children entertained.

The day, organised by Elmbridge Council, saw community groups and local businesses come together to celebrate all things play-related.

Councillor Mary Sheldon, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said, "It was great to see families enjoying themselves in the sun trying new things and taking the time to play together.

"Children had a fabulous time with all sorts of exciting activities. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the event. You all contributed to its success".
