A 12-year-old schoolboy took a 12-inch knife to a New Malden school.

The New Malden boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, took the 12-inch kitchen knife to Richard Challoner School in Manor Drive North, Old Malden on April 28.

He pleaded guilty to possessing the blade on school premises when he appeared at Wimbledon Youth Court on July 9.

He was given a three month referral order and told to pay £85 in court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
