A murderer who fled from prison while on day release has been on the run for more than a year as police renew an appeal for his capture.
Officers believe Derek Passmore, who was serving a life sentence after he killed a man in Hampton in October 1996, could be staying in the Richmond, Twickenham or Hounslow.
The 49-year-old, formerly of Robin Hood Lane, Kingston, left Ford Prison in Sussex on day release on June 22 last year at 9.45pm and was not seen again.
Passmore is stocky, 6ft 1in, with brown hair and hazel eyes and had a goatee beard when last seen.
A police spokesman said: "Passmore is not currently considered to be a direct threat to the public but if people see him they should dial 999 rather than approaching him.
"We are keen to speak to anyone who might have seen him or could know where he could be."
Anyone with information should call 101, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
