A man has denied trying to seriously injure a community police officer by driving into him while fleeing an attempted burglary.
Sean McPherson, 23, of Shepley Court, Streatham, denied one count of attempting to cause serious injury by driving dangerously when he appeared at Kingston Crown Court today.
He is accused of trying to seriously injure PCSO Oliver Barrett, by deliberately hitting him with a VW Polo.
PCSO Barrett, who served in the north Kingston area, did not suffer serious injuries in the incident and did not need hospital treatment, police said at the time.
Mr McPherson also denied one count of attempted burglary at a home in Burton Road, Kingston, on February 4 this year.
A second defendant, Scott Eden, 25, of Fleetwood Close, Tadworth, denies one count of attempted burglary.
The pair were bailed until next year.
A provisional trial date has been set for May 2015.
