The A3 has been closed between Tolworth and Hook after two incidents and a skip on fire.

Surrey Police tweeted at 4.51pm: "#A3 N/B Hook/Tolworth CLOSED x2 collisions and a skip on the back of a lorry on fire! Assisting Metpol. Traffic building #avoid"

It is understood that one of the accidents is a motorbike crash near Tolworth with a person being treated.

A witness to the aftermath said: "All I could see was the bare legs and I got to guess it was a woman. I could see L plates."

He said: "The other incident was a bit closer to the Ace of Spades northbound, a skip caught fire. It is being towed and the Fire Brigade came."

Two lanes on the A3 were also closed this morning after an accident at New Malden.
