A man has been charged on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after an alleged hit and run in Kingston.

A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with a broken arm and head injuries after being struck by a car in East Road at 8.50pm on Saturday, June 14.

It is alleged the car failed to stop after the collision.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of GBH shortly after.

A car was later recovered in New Malden and taken away for forensic tests.

Umair Aziz, 21, from Hazel Close, Brentford, has since been charged with one count of GBH with intent.

He has also been charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and one count of possession of a class B drugs with intent to supply.

He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today, June 18, and was remanded in custody.

A second man has been bailed until August.

The victim's injuries are not thought to be serious.
