Rail commuters are facing delays to their journey this morning, after a train broke down at New Malden.

Services in and out of London Waterloo towards the station are currently experiencing delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

Some South West Train services have been cancelled and others are stopping at extra stations to alleviate congestion.

The delays have caused gridlock at Wimbledon Station.

South West Trains said The train that had developed a fault has now moved from New Malden to a depot.

The train operator also issued the following advice:

Trains between London Waterloo and Hampton Court will be reinstated from the 0806 London Waterloo to Hampton Court train.
