Burglars slipped into a changing room and stole thousands of pounds worth of sporting items while two teams battled it out in a cricket match.

Seven kit bags belonging to visiting side Thames Ditton Cricket Club were stolen in the daytime raid at the changing rooms of the Old Tenisonians club house in Arthur Road, Motspur Park on Saturday, May 3.

Away players returned from lunch to find their bags with bats, helmets, trainers, clothing and other personal belongings gone.

The burglary is believed to have taken placed between 2pm and 4pm on the day.

Investigations are ongoing but no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting reference CAD 6156.
