Lanes have reopened on the A3 northbound between Hook and Tolworth due to a crash.
Emergency services held up traffic while a small car, facing the wrong way, was recovered.
Congestion reaches back to Esher Common.
Paramedics were called to Tolworth just before 7am but no one needed treatment.
Another crash at the New Malden roundabout saw fire crews called out after a car hit a lamp post at about 7am.
A London Ambulance spokeswoman said a 46-year-old man was taken as a priority to St George's Hospital in Tooting, while conscious and breathing.
