Dancing horses delight at Hampton Court Palace
2:00am Friday 18th April 2014 in News
A troop of horses put on their dancing hooves when they performed a routine at Hampton Court Palace this week.
The horses and their riders came all the way from Hanover to shake their tails when they performed a 20-minute ballet in a German style at the palace this weekend.
The Hanoverian horses will dance twice daily over the Easter weekend, from April 18 to April 21, to mark 300 years since King George I, the first of the Hanoverian Kings.
When George I arrived in England fresh from Hanover, he was presented with a troop of prize Hanoverian horses by his new courtiers as a welcome gift, and reminder of his homeland as the horse is a sign of Hanover.
Visitors to the palace can watch the Hanoverian hooves do the moves at noon and 3.30pm in the East Front Gardens.
