Hues of pink, purple and blue will cover Kingston’s Memorial Gardens by summertime.

Kingston University student landscapers have been weeding, cultivating and pruning land before sowing new plants in the Union Street gardens as part of their second year curriculum.

The group raised £3,500 for the project and worked alongside Kingston Council, town-centre managers Kingstonfirst and sustainability company Quadron Services to turn the garden into a more colourful haven.

Kingston police have welcomed the spruced up gardens as a deterrent from anti-social behaviour.
